Some of the posts I didn't make
Winter is usually my best time of year, health and energy-wise. Not this winter apparently and I am Displeased. Mental energy comes and goes, my sleeping pattern has gone to hell (I go days/nights at a time barely seeing daylight) and overall, I feel like crap.
In the midst of all this, my posting has been severely lacking. Some posts that I intended to make (dating back to May) but never managed.
*In May, I went for a short horse ride with friends. The ride itself was fun (very overcast but the rain held off), although I cannot understand the logic in locating a riding school next to a rifle range, but the riding school and nearby restaurant displayed the most incredible management fail and epic bad service I have ever experienced. It was astounding (and very insulting.) However, after lunch we had a softserve ice cream from an ice cream truck (hadn't had one in years) then walked on the beach under grey skies while great black crows swooped through the air. Amazing. And then we saw a free reptile show and got to pat some snakes and lizards. On the way home, we had a very interesting discussion about the compatibility of science and religion. Yeah, the bad service was epic but I don't get to go out very often and I will focus on the good things.
*Searching for something to do with leftover egg whites, I found a glorious whipped cream white cake. Almost like a freshly made cinnamon sugar donut.
*In June, I went to see X-Men: First Class with Pip and immediately understood why fandom was going nuts. I left the movie with five main thoughts: Charles needs a privilege check, Charles and Erik need a relationship counselor, Magneto needs a fashion consultant, where's the Darwin fic and why did they have all the women taking their clothes off? *exasperated* Yeah, I know the answer to that and perhaps this is just me but I didn't think any of them even looked particularly good with their clothes off.
*Browned butter brownies made with cocoa powder are good but made with raw cacao powder they are possibly the most intense chocolate experience I have ever had.
*Brendon Urie likes to take his clothes off! But he kind of fails at stripping.
Brendon: I'm drunk and happy, it's our last show for a while, I'm gonna take my clothes off! ... maybe I should have started with my boots.
Ian: What the hell. *strips*
Dallon: I am not taking my clothes off ... but I will let you lick me and I will carry you off stage so you don't fall on your face.
Spencer: You are all crazy people and I refuse to encourage this. ... who am I kidding? *trolls Twitter*
*Cavolo nero is delicious and I love the farmer's market. Purple carrots will bleed over your hands and stain under your fingernails for two days. Shredded roasted brussel sprouts are delicious, roasted stuffed capsicums are excellent and roasted broccoli is so good, omg, why did no one tell me this?!
*Went to the last of the nearby Borders sales in May.*sadface* I have huge piles of books to read but the lack of mental energy has severely limited my reading the last few months (well, there has been fanfic ...) and I've been rereading various books particularly one paranormal series which has led to ...
*A BANDOM FUSION WHICH HAS BEEN EATING MY BRAIN FOR A MONTH. Psychics! Animal shapeshifters! Gerard sees the future! Frank blows shit up! Gabe is quite possibly a cobra! And now Glam RPF (and Kris) wants in on it too!
*yells at brain* If you will insist on coming up with all this, will you actually cooperate and let me write it down in a way that will make sense to people who are not me?!
