I saw a kingfisher today! Only for about a minute before it got nervous and flew away - they're very shy - but it was so pretty and the colour was amazing. We've had some king parrots around recently as well and we've been hearing the whipbirds calling - I love their calls. Hopefully they'll come into into the garden soon and start bopping around. They're so funny to watch, I always think they look like mini-roadrunners.

I blame Mum.

It doesn't seem like such a colour can be real. It's a little fantasy bird!

You have so many pretty birds around your garden! The whipbird looks totally adorable with his little head crest.

Whipbirds are so funny. They're usually quite shy, you hear them more than see them, but a couple are getting more comfortable around our garden. Mum calls the male 'The Big Bopper' because that how he moves - bop, bop, bopping along, crest bouncing!

They are. But this was not my hobby! What happened?!
