Okay, the weather has calmed down a bit. I appreciate the nice breeze. The weekend was foul. And yesterday wasn't fun either. Why do we have to have summer? Last night I was so exhausted from the heat, I literally had trouble keeping my eyes open (and then couldn't sleep for a couple of hours when I went to bed. WTF?) I had planned dinner but I was so wrecked, I begged off and Mum made us both BLTs. Pretty good ones, too. But I was back to cooking tonight and it was good.
It has been a week of mostly successful recipes:
Chicken en Papillote - pretty good, add more vegetables next time.
Fillet Steak with Fresh Tomato Topping - yum.
Steak au Poivre - pretty damn good but the green capsicum we had with it tasted oddly bitter to me. I couldn't eat it. Tasted fine to Mum though. Weird.
Asparagus and Sesame Seed Pasta - nice but a bit dry. Variations are being planned.
Chickpea Stirfry with Fresh Basil and Oregano - so good.
Spinach and Parmesan-Stuffed Chicken - tonight's dinner and oh yeah. Making this again.
And for Mum's birthday - Blueberry Buttermilk Cake with Milk Chocolate & Honey Ganache. Let us drool in appreciation.

I have managed little writing in the last week for various reasons but I haven't given up. If nothing else, I now have a better idea of the story. Back to it tomorrow!
