Reading over my post from last night, I am surprised to find it fairly coherent. I think that was the last gasp of my coherence for the next eighteen hours though. The headache just got worse, headache pills did nothing, heatpack felt nice but didn't help. My skin didn't feel tight but I felt like there was a lining over my skull that was being tightened. With extra sore spots over my scalp and points of extra pressure around my eyes.

I didn't want to go to sleep like that but moving felt like a bad idea so I huddled in a chair and read more of The Victorian House by Judith Flanders. (Very good book.) As long as I didn't move, I could read. Finally, at four o'clock I gave up and went to bed with the heatpack draped over my head and woke up ten hours later, still with the headache.

I was not impressed. But over a few hours it mostly dissipated and I can move my neck again. But I can still feel it hovering so I stayed quiet today. Finished the book and started on London: the Executioner's City (really, state-sanctioned execution were often more gruesome than anything serial killers came up with.) I also pottered around the kitchen a bit while Mum hauled things around in the garden with great enthusiasm. (My mother wields a pick-axe. I feel a weedy, pathetic creature.) I'm still seeking my ultimate choc chip cookie recipe and there is dough chilling in the fridge for another attempt. I also tried White Chocolate and Lime cookies which are nice but not spectacular (first attempt was too crunchy and thick. Lowered the oven temp to 170C and used a heaped tablespoonful of dough per cookie. Perfectly cooked.)

I had something more to post about but whatever it was has escaped me.
