Garden Guy was here yesterday and after mowing the lawn, he helped mum cart a few more things down the driveway for the clean-up. Mum was going to put out the old dining table and chairs (I bought a new one a few years ago) but Garden Guy was appalled by the prospect (if I'd been awake, I would have protested too.) The table and chairs need some repair and revarnishing but they're still good! So Garden Guy took them home with Mum's blessing. He said his wife might want to kill him but they recently acquired a second puppy despite his dubiousness so he can probably get away with a table.
After the death of their old dog a while back (don't know what breed) they got a puppy about six months ago. She's a French Mastiff (Dogue de Bordeaux) x Neapolitan Mastiff. Her name is Xena.
The new puppy is Xena's half-brother on the Neapolitan Mastiff side but his mother is a Bull Arab.
The puppy's name is Hercules.
I venture to suggest that these names are very appropriate.
TWO OF THEM, YE GODS.
Who'd notice the dining table?

Had my second-last acupuncture appointment today. To my surprise, I bled from three places today (forehead and both ankles) and one of the knee points bled internally so I have a nice purple lump there. No new forehead bruise yet.

Tried Chicken en Papillote again, this time with orange zest, sliced fresh ginger and a dash of cinnamon. Nice but it needed sparking up. I might try a dash of vinegar next time, see if works here too! Mum also suggested leaving the chicken to marinate for an hour first which would help. I just need to remember in time to do so.

Another parcel arrived today, with Sarah McLachlan's Wintersong. I knew she'd done a couple of Christmas songs but I didn't know she'd done a whole album! When I saw that, I bought a copy on eBay (arrived very fast!) I'm listening to it now and quite enjoying it. I'm intrigued by her rendition of The First Noel (she combines it with Mary Mary.) It's not usually one of my favourite carols - but so much of that does depend on the singer. I've listened to many excruciating Carols by Candlelight performances over the years.
There seem to be a heap of remixes too ... excuse me, I'm getting sucked into YouTube for awhile, I can tell ...
