I was cooking today
Apr. 16th, 2011 11:26 pmPeeling and segmenting an orange always seems so damned wasteful to me. Yes, I realise that it might be better in cooking that way but ... or maybe people who prepare oranges like this more often than I do are better at it.

When you have managed to grate a bit of skin off your finger, no matter how slight the wound, it might be an idea to bandage it up before you handle pineapple, lemon, orange or ginger. Ow. It wasn't even a paper-cut!

Mum's still feeling horrible but she went to the doctor this morning and she has antibiotics now. Here's hoping they start working quickly. She's mostly been sitting in a chair looking dazed today. Very unlike herself.
