Highly recommended recipe

Stayed up rather too late last night, being distracted by BRENDON FUCKING URIE and band trolling the interwebs (and being rather NSFW.) Oh band. You are hilarious and worrying.

Today, there was tidying and writing and cooking dinner and making more lemon-lime curd. I am kind of tired of lemon-lime curd. And Mum asked if I could make extra for her this time. Fortunately, I seem to have found a recipe that produces consistent results.*fingers crossed*

Tonight's dinner! Spaghetti with Sausage and Cavolo Nero. Either the first or second cavolo nero recipe I tried and I love it. Especially with duck sausage. I've tried others but no, duck wins out. I don't change the recipe much, just reduce the spaghetti by half, use two small sausages, not three, and don't add extra olive oil at the end (why?) And even with the reduced amounts, Mum and I barely finished our servings tonight. This is a substantial meal! And the cavolo nero and duck combine to make something quick and simple into something luxurious.

I am pleased to note that, during today's writing, Ray finally had a few words to say. Now I need to google instrument repairs.

I've never made lemon curd even though I've got several recipes saved. It's the butter part that scares me off I think. I'm afraid it's going to curdle.

That spaghetti sounds SO GOOD! I've never had duck sausage. I wonder if you can even find it in Sweden. Well, in Stockholm probably, but I somehow doubt it's available anywhere else.

It's always so much fun to hear what my writing friends are researching :-)

The lemon curd recipes I've used have the butter added at the end, off the heat, if that helps? My main problem was getting the curd to thicken. But so far, this recipe is working very well! (Although I cut the sugar in half and replace part of the lemon juice and zest with the juice and zest of one lime.)

It's still good with other sausage! But the duck .. mmyeah. The duck was yet another farmer's market purchase, but we also have a little local gourmet sausage shop/butcher's. They have stuff like duck, venison, even crocodile at times.

I even found pictures of a instrument shop to give me ideas! Also researching: cougars and raccoons. *g*

Replacing some of the lemon with lime sounds like a nice idea. And the recipe actually makes it sound pretty simple so I obviously must try it soon. (I'd no idea you could freeze lemon curd!)

It really is fairly simple, it's just a bit tedious because you have to stand there and whisk and whisk and whisk.
