I should have bought more tea on the shopping trip. Although the fact that I regard fifteen teabags as possibly insufficient for another 3 1/2 days ... may indicate I should cut down on the tea (it's decaffeinated!)

I may have overdone the housework a bit today. *winces, rubs at lower back* However, Mum will have a clean bedroom and bathroom to come home to and I have made significant progress in reorganising my books so there are more on the shelves and fewer piles of them to trip over.
I need more shelves.
I cleaned to an accompaniment of country music. I've been listening to Bandom, Adam Lambert, Katherine Jenkins, etc, so much that it's been ages since I played one of my country playlists. The music made me smile. And then I had cuddles with the Boyo and he was very happy (this is related in my head.)

I cooked a mini-roast of kangaroo last night and it was very good! I've only grilled kangaroo before and because it's so lean, it's very easy to overcook it and it turns dry and tough. But the roast was very juicy.
It was also aggressively red in colour which a trifle unnerving. I don't even like rare steak and this just looked bloody (it wasn't, it was just red.)
Tonight however, I just couldn't face any kind of red meat (when I'm really tired, even chewing meat can seem exhausting) so I stuck some cheese and spinach pastries in the oven. Trying cold kangaroo can wait for tomorrow.

The smoke alarm guy came today (an hour early and I wasn't dressed yet. *facepalm*) He replaced the batteries in both alarms, somehow managing to open the battery compartment which had utterly defeated Mum and me. (He suggested a screwdriver for leverage.) He wasn't the least bit surprised to hear that I'd wrapped the alarm in towels and stuck it out in the carport. He said he'd more than once found people keeping the beeping alarm in their freezer. *is amused* Even if we had room in our freezer ... I don't think that would have occurred to me.
