I didn't even know cooling pads existed. When it's that hot I know I definitely wouldn't mind using one myself :-)
17 is a very respectable age for a dog. I don't think I've ever known one that got older than 15. It's so sad when you realise they're growing old. And yeah, it always seems to happen so suddenly.
