I was flicking through one of those discount coupon booklets that arrive amongst the junkmail - nothing, nothing, hmmno, nothing, WTF?!

Say hello to BRAZILIAN BUTT-LIFT JEANS.

Possibly this is more amusing when one is still only half-awake. They might even be good jeans but really, I do not find the name appealing.

Laundry, double batch of lemon-lime curd, washing up, dinner, more washing up. It was a nice day though and the babiana has a new blue & purple flower and the ixia is starting to bloom (after all these years, some botanical knowledge had to sink in.)

That is the last batch of lemon-lime curd for at least three weeks. Yes it is! (Stop laughing.) But Mum will not be here to act as courier and I will have the excuse of being too tired from housekeeping (perfectly true, unfortunately.)

Dinner was surprisingly good. Wood garlic tagliatelle with cavolo nero, pancetta and parmesan. I had the pasta sitting around for ages (someone gave it to us.) I'd never even heard of wood garlic - or so I thought. I have heard of ramps, also known as ramsons, buckrams, wild garlic, broad-leaved garlic, wood garlic, bear leek, and bear's garlic. The flavour of the pasta was quite mild and it went well with the other ingredients. Speck isn't much seen here so I chopped some pancetta, fried it, then followed the recipe.

Mum and I definitely enjoyed it but then, pancetta, garlic and parmesan are usually a pretty good combination!

You have such cool spring bulbs downunder! Much more colourful than ours.

*snicker* Let's hope so at least ;-)

Ramson grows wild here in Sweden but it's pretty rare and I don't think I've ever seen it. That dish sounds very tasty but yes, it's hard to go wrong with those ingredients.

*rolling eyes at the Brazilian butt-lifting jeans* For the record, I'll totally admit that I love wearing (plain) Brazilian jeans. Mainly because they are cut for womanly curves (not an euphemism.) I happen to be 5'4" and Latin. Basically, once I hit puberty, I got them hips happening.

This meant that a lot of the "general" jeans (like, from the Gap, most Levi's and Lee's, etc.) fit me ten kinds of wrong because the fit models used for those brands have NO hips. So, when I go try those jeans on, the waist will be too high or the crotch too low or (even lovelier) a combo of those two (even I try on a petite cut--which is why I usually do.)

ANYHOO, Brazilian jeans tend to be low-rise (especially compared to non-Brazilian jeans.) What might look naughty on someone with straight/square hips (meaning no curves) fits me just fine. Thankfully, there is a relatively small but vibrant Brazilian community where I live so there's no shortage of "regular" Brazilian jeans.

As for the Brazilian "butt-lifting" jeans, well, those are plain ol' nonsense and nothing like the "regular" Brazilian jeans. They basically amount to jeans with lycra panels to mold/contour the hip and butt areas.
