Cat pee, dog crap and cat (or possibly dog) vomit.

I submit that only one of these should have to be dealt with per day.

I went to bed with a headache on Monday night, lay awake for hours and finally fell asleep around dawn only to be woken up a few hours later by the dogs saying 'Time To Go Out!'

Got up to let them out, discovered a puddle of vomit in the dining room. Great. Dealt with that, hung out the laundry I'd done the night before, then went back to bed.

Several unsatisfactory hours of sleep later, the dogs informed me it was 'Time For Bones!' Right. Got up, gave them bones, realised the smell of cat pee around the laundry door was still there, thought 'not now' and went back to bed.

A few more hours of restless, unsatisfactory sleep and the dogs turned up saying, 'It Is Afternoon, Why Are You Not Outside With Us?' At which point, it was 4p.m. and I really had to get up anyway.

So I brought the laundry in, had a cup of tea, cleaned up the garden after the dogs, had more tea, tried to locate the ever-elusive source of the cat pee smell, fed the animals and oh yeah, maybe it was time for me to eat breakfast.

Made my breakfast, sat down at the dining table and discovered the cat had not only vomited on the floor next to the chair, he'd vomited on the edge of the chair and cushion as well. That would be the chair I'd just sat on and I discovered this by putting my hand on the vomit.

It was at that point that I decided it was just not going to be my day.

After showering, escaping into a book for awhile and making dinner (no lunch!), I was thinking I should do more vacuuming, wash the dishes, then go online and answer comments ... only to finish dinner and realise I was so exhausted I could barely stand up.

Somehow, I managed to stay up long enough to give the dogs one last outing, then I fell into bed, slept for seven very satisfying hours before being woken up by the animals again. Then I had another few hours sleep and it was Time For Bones once more. Despite the sleep, I still felt quite waveringly exhausted when I got up so I have being doing not much of anything today.

Except for further cleaning around the laundry door. I swear I have cleaned every damn thing at this point so wtf?!

Ugh - that's miserable! I hope you're more rested now and that the animals are a bit more continent today!

Hee! I have so much empathy - when Pearl's dogs are at our house too, it seems like it's just one mess after another. . .

Ugh, what a miserable day. Why does everything have to happen at the same time?! I hope you're feeling a bit more rested now.
