... well, that was a very silly movie.

I was dubious from the start, despite the excellent visuals, as brash, arrogant, overconfident characters are a definite turn off for me.

But then Jane and Darcy turned up. Especially Darcy. Hee.

I feel Loki was in need of a spanking and a time-out - no, not in the kinkmeme sense. Nasty piece of work.

Clint! Hi, Clint! (He and Thor will be bros, yes?)

Chris Hemsworth has grown up nicely (hi, Chris's chest) but I would have considerable trouble taking him seriously even if he weren't playing a out-of-place god. Same thing with Jesse Spencer and Ryan Kwanten. I will always associate them with soap operas and teenybopper magazine covers.

And Thor has an Aussie accent? Really?

Yeah, Thor was not exactly the best movie ever. I liked Darcy, but Jane felt kinda flat to me. I liked it when she ran Thor over with the car. Um...I liked Agent Coulson? And Nick Fury...and...ah...yeah. /o\

Having just been browsing AO3, I have concluded that the best thing about Thor was the resultant Darcy fic. Jane had a few good moments but Darcy was a lot more fun!

I haven't seen the movie, but had to comment anyway as you're one of the tiny minority I've seen who haven't fallen in love with Loki.

Well, I promise you're not missing much. And no double bluff, I think they'd have to rewrite most of the movie before I could like Loki.

I felt some sympathy for him at first - he was feeling underappreciated and overshadowed by Thor and then he found out a Big Shocking Secret about his heritage. But there are ways to deal with such things that do not involve lying to, deceiving, manipulating, injuring and trying to kill those who love and trust him. Also, it seemed like he was just looking for an excuse to do it all anyway.

Lovely character. Why is he a favourite?!

For the first chunk of the movie all my tweets were about mocking the manly man who is so mad at being called a princess he needs to kill ALL THE THINGS! But I dunno. He grew on me. The coffee mug thing was hilarious! And he got Jane's notebook back! And really, he seemed to learn humilty by the end.

Darcy is excellent. My first Avengers fic has darcy, and my marvelbb is going to be her pov.

I DISLIKE LOKI IMMENSELY. I'm so happy to not be alone. Fandom, your need to redeem evil people *sigh*

Thor did have some adorable moments. "I need a horse!" But really, his charcater arc was so utterly predictable, I was rolling my eyes.

*squeaks* Darcy! I was deeply disappointed to realise she wouldn't be in The Avengers. I look forward to the fic!

Yeah, any chance I had of sympathising with Loki disappeared completely when he appeared to Thor in the holding cell and lied about their parents. Loki, you total shit. And hey *points down*, it looks like lucifuge5 agrees with us!

Considering how OTT people got when the movie premiered, I'm actually very surprised with how much I liked Thor. He was OK (and there was actual character growth), Jane was fine (I liked how they handled the romance) and I really dug Darcy and Agent Coulson (as well as Thor's compadres over at their home planet. NGL, I might be crushing on Sif a leeeetle bit.)

Unlike 99.9% of Fandom, however, I didn't care for Loki. Don't even know why fanpeeps are so intent on explaining why he acted the way he did in the movie.

Can't say I've read any fic. There's one Darcy & Loki as BFFs fic I bookmarked, but I've got about a gazillion fics to read before that one so...

Heh, I was watching the movie and thinking, "This is what all the fuss was about?!"

Thor turned out okay but it was all so predictable, I was rolling my eyes. I did like Jane's science focus but the romance didn't do much for me. Darcy and Coulson and Clint were excellent and yes, Sif and the Warriors Three were delightful! Imagine the mayhem if they turn up again ...

I've bookmarked some excellent Darcy fic at AO3. Darcy/Clint seems to be a favoured pairing but I'm also enjoying Darcy & Steve as BFFs.
